At Hawthorne & Heaney we worked on the annual Miss World sash for many years before covid-19 put a halt to events like this one, so imagine our delight when we were approached again to work on their newest model for the 2024 competition.

Some small changes were made from previous years to slightly modernise the design, with the same base light blue silk with sparkly sequin, blue ‘MISS WORLD’ lettering and accents of pink and silver crystals.

Crafting the 2024 Miss World Sash was a collaborative effort that showcased the diverse skills of our team. From our digital design experts who meticulously crafted mock-ups and patterns to our skilled machine operators who embellished the sash with shimmering lettering, every detail was carefully considered. Our in-house hand embroiderers meticulously adorned the blue silk with individually applied pink and silver crystals. Finally, our construction team added a silver trim border before sewing and finishing the sash with a delicate chain.

It was great to see Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic crowned winner, and awarded with the bespoke blue sash made exclusively for the event by Hawthorne & Heaney. You can read more about the contest and the winner on The Daily Mail.
We love working on exciting one off pieces for prestigious events like Miss World, and take immense pride in our contributions cherishing the opportunity to be part of them time and again.
